Frequently asked questions:
Q: How do I know the system will fit my refrigerator?
A: The magnetic lock is 10” tall so you will need a minimum of 10” between two of your refrigerator shelves across from the spot where you will mount the armature plate. Most installations don’t require moving adjustable refrigerator or door shelves, but you may need to move one or the other up or down a notch or two. Besides that, we’ve included more fasteners, and holes in brackets than you’ll need to give the system the flexibility to fit a huge variety of applications and make it easier to install.
Q: What is your return policy?
A: You’ll get a free refund within 30 days of the receipt of the original shipment as long as the return is shipped in the original packaging and the product is complete and in new condition. The cost of the return shipping is all you will pay.
Q: What about the parts warranty?
A: One year from the date of purchase. We rarely have any problems, the components in the system are designed and tested for tough commercial applications; they operate for years. If for any reason one does fail within the first year, contact us through email or phone and we’ll give you a return authorization number. You ship us the defective component postage collect, (we pay the postage) and we’ll ship you the replacement component.
Q: How difficult is it to install the system?
A: Installation using our instruction manual takes a moderate technical level. Follow the step by step instructions and you’ll be done in 3 or 4 hours. You’ll be drilling some holes for wiring and mounting the armature plate on the inside of the door. The instructions cover installing the system on a regular door as well as a refrigerator. You can watch a video summarizing a typical installation on our home page.
Q: Is the system safe?
A: Absolutely, it’s operates on low voltage with very little current draw (12 volts @ 12 watts).
Q: How often can I change the 4 digit access code?
A: As often as you want. It takes 30 seconds to change. Some customer’s change it when they are entertaining so guests can serve themselves, and then change it back after the last guest leaves.
Q: If my refrigerator dies, can the system be moved to a different one?
A: Yes. The only thing you may need to move your system is some more wire, ties and wire mounts. These items can all be purchased at hardware or home improvement stores. This is another good reason to save your instruction manual after your installation is completed.
Q: Do you have a list of recommended installers in my area?
A: No. Since step by step instructions are included with every system, most any appliance repair professional can knock out the installation in a couple of hours. Check on their hourly rate and get a firm estimate on the total cost before you give them authorization to proceed. If you or they have any questions feel free to contact our support department via phone or email.
