What You Need to Know about Keypads Before You Purchase
With SecureRefrig.com, you can purchase one of our pre-packaged systems, which cover many popular applications, or custom-build your system by ordering components individually.
We offer three different keypads to control access to your locking system. The first keypad- controller listed is the default with all of our prepackaged systems and will be sent unless you choose a another one during checkout.
- The SecureRefrig.com keypad-access control was chosen because it is tough and has lasted for years in heavy use commercial applications. Secondly, it has metal case and is back-lit; making for easy access night or day.
- The SecureRefrig.com outdoor keypad-access control is tough in wet or outdoor conditions. Metal case, back-lit and controlled through a four-digit code and/or RFID tag. Whether used in an outdoor kitchen, restaurant or medical facilities where the keypad-access control may come in direct contact with water this is the one you.
- The SecureRefrig.com wireless keypad is a lightweight battery powered unit that simplifies installation. With no wires or drilling, using only two ‘AAA’ batteries, the keypad/transmitter runs for about six months with 100 uses per day. Access is granted using a four-digit code and/or RFID products.
Pre-Packaged Systems
Our pre-packaged systems are designed based on years of experience with different configurations. These systems are constructed to provide everything—and a bit more—than one might need, ensuring ample flexibility for various applications and ease of installation. For example, based on customer feedback regarding the small screw terminals on the keypad, we now include a 2mm screwdriver to facilitate setup.
However, we also understand that some situations call for a unique approach. For those who require a tailored solution, we offer the option to build a custom system by ordering individual components. To make informed decisions during this process, you can refer to three key considerations we list on our site, ensuring that your custom system aligns with your needs.
Building Your Own System
When building a custom system, keep the following in mind:
- Power Requirements for Magnetic Locks: Each magnetic lock will require 12 watts of power for operation and one keypad. Should the distance between the power supply and the lock exceed 15 feet, upgrading to a larger power supply is advised to ensure sufficient power delivery. For instance, securing a room with two locks and two keypads with extensive wiring would necessitate a 60-watt power supply or, alternatively, a 60-watt UPS unit for uninterruptible power.
- Mounting Bracket Sets: Each refrigerator or freezer door that you intend to secure will need a corresponding bracket set to mount the locks properly. This ensures that they are fitted securely and operate as intended.
- Exit Buttons for Entry/Exit Doors: Equipping each entry/exit door with an exit button is crucial. This setup adheres to safety protocols and allows quick and effortless exiting from the secured area.
